Trying Again

First topic message reminder :

They met in school and fell in love at 16. Married at 18. Have two children, an 8yo son Ben and 6yo daughter Kate. To people on the outside they're perfect, on the inside they fight, ignore each other and sleep in separate rooms some nights. They've grown apart and in the middle of a huge fight they both said they wanted a divorce and it was the best thing to do. They make no time for the two of them.. After the second child was born, they drifted. Have rare and boring sex with no effort towards each other at all. They accuse each other of cheating but neither has. He's got a good job, successful with his own company but is known as cold and arrogant. She stayed home to take care of the kids and let herself go from being so unhappy. Fed up with the constant fighting each day while they have their divorce drawn up, she moves into their guest house to stay close to the kids while she finds another place to live.. Then they start to fall in love all over again.

i was afraid to take Kate anywhere. "No acting out!" I said sternly. We walked out and I sucked in the cold air.

"its so cold, snuggle weather." i smiled wrapping my arms around his as.we walked down the pathway behind the kids. "are you as nervous as I am about dinner, please find us a seat away from others."

"I was half tempted to just order in!" I said looking at her. "I don't get it. It's killing me!" I said kissing her.

"me too, but Ben's excited and he shouldn't have things taken away coz of her." i squeezed his arm "if she says anything then let's hope no police are around."

"she's 7. she is seeking attention, which she already has from us. Maybe we just ignore her the next time it comes up?" i suggested as we got to the restaurant

i sighed. "Okay we will try that." I opened the door as we piled in we got a table and I was thankful it wasn't too busy

"we can build a snowman tomorrow," i said to the kids and Bens eyes lit up "and have a snow fight! " he added. "yeah, that sounds fun..there's also a candy shop here." i smiled as the waitress came over. We ordered and I was so relieved Kate didn't say anything.

"and get in the big spa mummy?" he asked. I pouted "I'd love to, but I can't. The baby would cook too much..but you and Kate can have one. Would you like to do that Kate?" i asked hoping shed join in. She shook her head and pursed her lips "only if daddy will give me a baby. He loves me and I want daddy's baby!!" she said louder "daddy wants a baby with me but you're not letting him!!!". I looked at Tommy "im so sorry, you and Ben stay here." i said and picked Kate up who began.kicking and screaming like crazy as I left the restaurant more than embarrassed.

i sighed. This wasn't good I has everyone looking at me. I hated. "Ben do you want to stay or go back and order in?" I ask knowing the answer. "I wanna stay dad!" I sighed more. I put my head in my hands and waited.

"you've really upset me Kate, and you've embarrassed your father and brother. Do not come out if this room, get to sleep before I really lose my patience with you!" i yelled and went to tuck her in when her legs flew up and kicked me hard in the stomach. Without meaning to my hand slapped her thigh not hard but enough to make her notice and she just stared at me then held her breath until she was red and screamed kicking her arms and legs about "i hate you!!" i just turned and walked away crying. I closed her door and slid down to the floor listening to her screaming and throwing a tantrum.

after our food came we took it all to go. We didn't talk much but once I opened the door I heard the screaming and saw Elle crying. Ben go put these in the kitchen please. I walked over and picked her up. "Elle beautiful are you okay.?" One hand on her belly the other holding her face. I sat us down in the couch.

"i hit her." i sniffed "i didn't mean to, and it was barely a slap but she kicked me in the stomach and I slapped her thigh. I'm sorry. I feel awful for it." i leant against him closely. "She's not to leave the room, she can go hungry tonight but I am so embarrassed and angry with her
her and scene she made."

i looked at her concerned. "Elle the baby you need to get checked out!" I said sternly I knew she couldn't of hit her hard she's hit me before so I knew but the baby. "Come on I'll call for a doctor I need to put you in bed don't say anything just lay please if you need something call for Ben!"

"we're on a trip, I hate this. It was meant to be happy for us." i said as he laid me down on the bed. "i feel fine, I'm sure the baby is ok." i hoped so. Ben walked in and climbed on the bed and laid his head just below my stomach "me love baby."

i smiled and went to call for someone. Once they said they would send someone I walked back in. "You need anything baby?"

i smiled. "Nope but I'm good he should eat tho." I said then sat done and waited till the doctor came by.

the doctor came by and felt her stomach then listened to the heartbeat. "everything seems fine, just try to not overdo it. If you cramp then call me again and I'll get you in for an ultrasound."

"well I'm relieved the heartbeat sounds good and I haven't had any cramps at all." i said sitting up more in the bed. Ben was passed out beside me.

i was on cloud 9 hearing the heartbeat. I just smiled and couldn't help it I new the doctor was still there but I needed her lips on mine. I kissed her hard and grinned from ear to ear.

"Well that's what I like to see the parents still happily in love!" The doctor said before leaving his card and then leaving.

"I forgot how exciting it is to have a baby, the heartbeat makes it so much more real." i smiled placing my hand over my stomach. "He's right though, we're definitely in love."

"heat it up, he should eat." i looked down at him and sighed "do you want to check on the other one? I can't believe her tonight. She's never acted out so horribly and to say that after she's been told no, god I was about to lose it completely."

i felt awful. "I just don't understand her." I said kissing Elle softly and getting up to heat the food up. "Wake him and I'll get the food and check on Kate." I walked out checked on her she was passed out. I sighed heated out good and got some drinks.
