The Years of Love *closed*

He and I were in love. Nothing could change it, or so we thought. We dated for two years before the incident. That night it happened I was supposed to meet him at a restuarant for dinner. He had big plans for our future that night. Two years it had been since I asked him out, and 4 since we met. He was planning to propose to me. But he waited at the restaurant for awhile, after some time he expected the call that I would relay to indicate why I was late.

An hour passed and yet I had not called. He calls me, but surprisingly I don't answer. This is when my captors had taken me, and I'm sure I heard the phone ring multiple times with his desperate attempts to locate me. I could not answer to call for help. The first time I didn't pick up he has a sneaking suspicion of what had happened. I never just didn't answer. That's also taking into account that I'm showering or held up at work.

It's been two years since then, and he and I had not seen each other. When he heard that I had been found, he was delighted. Overjoyed, in fact. He thought I would appear weak, bloody, beaten. Anything, even with some mental truama. But what he got was so much worse than he or even I could ever fathom. For what these people had done for those two years to me, even my family could not predict the reaction I had the moment he walked in the room. No one could've thought I was capable of it, especially not to him.

"Oh no, thank you," I said.

I nodded and finished my plate.

I wait quietly.

"ready to go home?" I asked as I took a napkin and cleaned Lily's face.

"When you guys are."

I nodded and signaled the waiter for the check.

I played with Lily.

Once the bill came, I paid and left a tip. "alrightmybeautiful ladies, ready to go home?" I asked u able to keep the smile from my face.

"Yes, I am. I can't wait to see what the inside looks like," I said. I had an idea it'd be something similar to the furniture we picked out when we went out sometimes. He'd take me on a date and we'd end up at a furniture store a few times. I only picked half of the furniture and left it open for him to decide the rest.

"you'll love it, plus there's a surprise waiting for you." I said with a smile as we left the diner.

"I already guessed. You've been very smiley, which I expected because I'm out, but there's also the hint that there's more too your smile. But I can't guess what it is," I said.

"I cant help but feel excited about having you home, plus you'll like this surprise." I said once we got to the car. We strapped Lily in and climbed in ourselves.

"I know I will," I said.

We rode the rest of the way in silence. I had sent them a message letting them know we were on our way before we pulled off.

I looked out the window.

What seemed like hours which was only minutes, we finally pulled up to the house. "we're here."

I smiled. "Looks better than the last time I got to see it."

"the inside is even better." I said with a smile. I helped Lily got of the car and grabbed her bag.

I got out and followed him.

I went to the front and unlocked the door. I allowed her to go in first and seconds later everyone jumped out screaming surprise. Her parents and Ty were here a long with my cousin Daisy and her kids. It wasn't many people but it was all that mattered.

I smiled at everyone and couldn't believe he put this together. "Thanks everyone," was all I could think to say.

My smile brightened at her reaction. We walked to the living room and sat down while everyone did the same. Her parents looked happy to finally see her out of the hospital. "so we weren't sure exactly what to do so everyone just decided to buy you a present." I told her.

"Okay, I guess that's alright," I said obviously just as unsure.

"Lily go get your present from your room." she smile big and nodded before running off to her room. "well I already gave you my present." I smiled. Her parents were the first to start off. They gave her a charm bracelet with all her favorite things on it. Ty gave her a new cell phone. Letting her know that she didn't have to worry about the bill, that he'd pay it. Finally Lily came back down and rushed over to us. Without warning she wiggled her way onto my lap before handing over her present. It was a picture I had taken of them two when Lily was just a few months old. It was inside a picture frame I bought and Lily decorated it herself.

I thanked everyone for the gifts but it took me a moment to say anything when I got the picture. I sat there studying it and getting a few flashes here and there.
