Destructive Choices

They met and fell in love three years ago, their souls entwined and believed they had fiund true love with each other. Both having been married before, and each have two children with their previous partners, a boy and a girl. They thought life was going ok, with goals being met and their savings account going up. Until, one day when their perfect bubble began to burst.

He left his ex wife and their two children to follow his heart, moving to another state and flying over each holidays to spend a weekend with his children, or flying them down to his new home. The only catch, he’s wanting to see them more and more. His ex, blocks his calls and makes it harder on him. He feels guilty for the amount of time he spends with his girlfriends kids, and can’t help but want to move back to be with his own.

She was happy, looking forward to the possibility of owning their own home and thinking life was great as she started a new job and was feeling alive again after the divorce and custody battle. Her children were her world, and she couldn’t help but feel anxious when his were around. She was always kept at arms length, never really being involved with them. She just didn’t think he would up and leave them.

I was relieved he wanted the same thing. “Yes, I can’t terminate when he is moving and kicking, I feel him. He’s healthy, it’s just my placenta in the way. I’ll need to be booked in for a cesarean for delivery, they don’t want me going into labour on my own.” I looked over his shoulder and couldn’t see the kids or my parents. “Did mum and dad take them?”

I smiled hearing her say him. “Yes they took them for the night I have to call when we get home.” I got goose bumps. .”him? Baby we are having a boy?” I was in shook. “God I love you let’s get you home and resting. Should we put off the wedding?”

“No I am still having our wedding” there was no way I would cancel that. “And yes, it’s a boy, we’re having a boy.”

I smiled. “Okay we will have a wedding but baby I don’t want you over doing it so if you need me to kick people out early you tell me and I will!”

“I want to make love” I sighed. “It’s the one thing I’m looking forward to when we marry.” I said, “unless we postpone until just before the baby is born?” I suggested, maybe that was better. “All I know, I could either loose the baby, or die if I’m not careful.”

I shook my head. “Baby, we won’t be making love till after the baby becaus eim not risking your life or our boys life!” I said it sternly so she knew I was serious. “We can wait or we can marry and just wait on our love making!”

“Well I’m not waiting for marriage, so we will be marrying next weekend. Maybe just something small I. Our garden.” I suggested, rubbing my stomach. “I’m tired, we should get home.”

I smiled. “Our garden will be perfect.” I took her home and got her in bed. “You hungry or just want to go to sleep?” I needed to call and let her parents know before I crawled in bed with her.

“8 just want to sleep. I’m exhausted.” I was so worried, devastated that something would happen to our baby. “I need him to be ok. I can’t loose our child.” I said bursting into tears as I wrapped my arms around my stomach

I sighed and leaned over her. “I won’t let that happen babe.” I kissed her and then said. “I’m going to call your parents, I’ll be back.” I called and let them know they said they would keep the kids a day or two and I appreciated that. I crawled in bed and pulled her to me. “You both will be okay babe I promise you.”

“I hope so. But that means I can’t work, o don’t know how we’re goung to afford anything.” I sighed rubbing my stomach. “Jesus it’s always something.”

I smiled. “We will be fine don’t worry it’s not good for you or him. I’ll just work extra from the house.” I kissed her head. “Please don’t worry.”

“No you can’t just keep working” I sighed, my eyes closing as I grew tired. “I can do bookwork from home. Well find a way to make this work.” I felt awful, I wasn’t going to be able to do much at all

I smiled not worried about work just worried about her and him. “Baby you just stay healthy and keep baking our son. Start thinking of some names and get some sleep.” I leaned down and kissed her belly. “And you stop giving your mum a hard time already!” I smiled and kissed her belly again.

I laughed softly as he spoke to our son. “Oh he’s keeping my heart rate up that’s for sure. He’s going to look just like his daddy I hope.”

I smiled. “Baby I’m just so happy right now, but you know we may have to try for a girl after he is born right?” I smiled more and just couldn’t wait I needed her to be healthy.

“Oh is that so? I’d love to have a little girl.” I smiled, my eyes still closed. “Once he is born, were fucking so hard. You can take me away and we’ll make love like crazy.”

I smiled. “Hell yes we are!” I kissed and her and smiled she was so brave and amazing. I held her as we both dozed off. I was so worried about them.
