Destructive Choices

They met and fell in love three years ago, their souls entwined and believed they had fiund true love with each other. Both having been married before, and each have two children with their previous partners, a boy and a girl. They thought life was going ok, with goals being met and their savings account going up. Until, one day when their perfect bubble began to burst.

He left his ex wife and their two children to follow his heart, moving to another state and flying over each holidays to spend a weekend with his children, or flying them down to his new home. The only catch, he’s wanting to see them more and more. His ex, blocks his calls and makes it harder on him. He feels guilty for the amount of time he spends with his girlfriends kids, and can’t help but want to move back to be with his own.

She was happy, looking forward to the possibility of owning their own home and thinking life was great as she started a new job and was feeling alive again after the divorce and custody battle. Her children were her world, and she couldn’t help but feel anxious when his were around. She was always kept at arms length, never really being involved with them. She just didn’t think he would up and leave them.

I smiled. “I don’t want to waste more time I want you as mine the kids already have my name I want you to as well!” I let her kids give her the paper that states I’m their father now.

“We’re a family, a proper family.” I smiled, hugging the kids as they hugged us both back. “You know how to make a girl cry, and you started the nursery?” I said wiping tears. It was how I imagined the room to be.

I smiled. “Good I kind of looked through some of your ideas I found on the computer.” I laughed “I wanted to make it perfect for you and the baby.”

“It is perfect. All it needs is our baby.” I Smiled. “Can we get married before the baby is born?” I asked eagerly

I smiled. “Whenever you want but I was kind of hoping to do it this weekend as everyone will be here anyways!”

“Yes that’s perfect. A surprise wedding.” I grinned, I would love that. “I’ll need to get something to wear too.” I smiled. “Are you sure you really want this?”

I smiled and kissed her. “I do!” I looked at the kids and then her. “I can’t wait for this weekend we will be a proper family it’s all I want too!”

“We are a proper family, we just have paperwork to sign and amarriage but we are a family, and we always will be one.” I kissed him, cupping his face.

“We are Babe.” I kissed her I was so happy. “Let’s go out for dinner! Let’s celebrate!” I looked at the kids and they nodded.

“Where to?” I already knew they would say pizza and pasta. I laughed, “ok let me grab my bag. We can go and celebrate.” I smiled down at my hand, the ring so beautiful. “And then you and I are celebrating afterwards.” I winked, kissing him.

I smiled “I wouldn’t have it any other way. But I do need to call your mum and tell her you said yes!” I winked knowkngnshe would know now I set it all up for her to have a day with her mum getting pampered.

“Oh that was your plan, I knew I didn’t forget a spa day with her!” I laughed shaking my head. “You’re very sneaky, well played baby.” I smiled l

Laughing I kissed her. “I had to get you out so we could do all this, your dad even came over and help a little.” I pulled her closer. “I have to call and invite them to celebrate as they were apart of the plain.”

“They would like that” I smiled. “I love you, you are truly incredible.” I was so lucky to have him, and our children were lucky to have him too

I smiled and called we were meeting them there. As we got there I smiled as I heard her mum. She wanted to see the ring and the paper work! I already showed her dad earlier and he approved. We all sat down and talked it was a good night. We ended up telling them about the wedding because well I thought it would be good for her mum to help out with a dress and all that.

I was eager for bed when I climbed in later that night. “The kids are so excited, it’s cute seeing them this happy to help you plan the nursery and the gardens.” I smiled, laying down. “Do you think we’re havunf a boy or a girl?”

I smiled . “I’m not sure but I’m happy with either as long as you and our baby is healthy.” I laid down and kissed her. “You are going to be my wife after this coming weekend and that makes me even happier!”

“I cannot wait to become your wife.” Just thinking about it made me smile even more. “Your wife, and baby mama.” I grinned, tickling his sides

I laughed and pulled her to a stop. “I love you.” I kissed her and smiled “you amaze me.” I wanted her again and again.”

“You have me forever.” I wrapped my arms beneath him and pulled him to me. Everything couldn’t have been more perfect. But then I woke, to an unfamiliar pain and I felt the wetness pooling between my thighs. It felt like a blur as we rushed to the hospital and I sat waiting for the doctor to come in. “I know it’s gone. I can just feel it.” I whispered as tears rolled down my cheeks

I sat there hating this I was in the waiting room with the kids till her parents got here and I wanted to be with her. I paced back and forth waiting not knowing what was going on I felt like a dick for not being there with her.

I walked out, my throat dry as I shook my head unable to form words to speak. I just wanted his arms around my head. “Let’s go home. I just need to be in the nursery right now.”

I looked at her. “Baby what happened?” I needed to know I needed our baby to be okay . I just found out and I needed our child.

“I have placenta previa. It’s quite serious and causes bleeding, during the pregnancy and possibly during delivery. They suggested I terminate the pregnancy as my life is a high risk. It’s either bed rest and no sex, or I terminate and we try again in a few months.” I had already made my mind up tho.

I looked at her. “Then no sex and bed rest for you!” I wouldn’t let her terminate no way. “Please baby tell me that’s what you told them.” I asked not knowing what or how I would feel if she terminated the pregnancy
