Destructive Choices

They met and fell in love three years ago, their souls entwined and believed they had fiund true love with each other. Both having been married before, and each have two children with their previous partners, a boy and a girl. They thought life was going ok, with goals being met and their savings account going up. Until, one day when their perfect bubble began to burst.

He left his ex wife and their two children to follow his heart, moving to another state and flying over each holidays to spend a weekend with his children, or flying them down to his new home. The only catch, he’s wanting to see them more and more. His ex, blocks his calls and makes it harder on him. He feels guilty for the amount of time he spends with his girlfriends kids, and can’t help but want to move back to be with his own.

She was happy, looking forward to the possibility of owning their own home and thinking life was great as she started a new job and was feeling alive again after the divorce and custody battle. Her children were her world, and she couldn’t help but feel anxious when his were around. She was always kept at arms length, never really being involved with them. She just didn’t think he would up and leave them.

“I hate sleeping alone.” I said softly, turning and holding him back. “I always struggle to fall asleep when you’re not holding me.”

Ali sighed. “I’m sorry.” Was all I could say. “It’s knly the weekend I’ll be right back.” I kissed her head and held her tight.

“I’ll miss you that’s all.” I held him tightly, falling asleep and only waking again when he was starting to get up. I laid in bed watching before speaking “what time do you fly out?”

I sat down next to her. “I have to leave here soon to head to the airport.” I really think she thought I wouldn’t miss her. “I’ll miss you too.”

“I can’t wait until you’re back home.” I sat draping my arms around him. “Want us to take you to the airport?” I suggested, kissing his neck all over

I smiled. “The kids should get their sleep baby.” I kissed her. “I will miss you.” I kissed her harder wanting her before I have to go. “Baby I want you.”

“Have me then.” I pulled him backwards, wrapping my legs around him. God I hated when he left. “I love you so much.” And it was as passionate as ever

I kissed her hard before I left hating seeing her look so upset. As I landed and went to the apartment I had and called my ex to see when I could get the kids.

I saw his missed called and rolled my eyes, the kids were playing with friends. I text him back - the kids have friends over playing. They don’t want to come- I called out to Sam “dad is over, do you want to go play?” And he shook his head running off. I smiled.

I groaned -you knew I was coming why would you do this?- god she pisses me off. -fine I’ll come over there and see then play then bring them back with me!- I then texted gabby. -hey babe I made it about to see the kids xoxo-

I frowned - are they coming to you? I don’t want you at her house!- I sent back, I would be so pissed if he went there. God this weekend was going to be long.

I sighed. -don’t have a choice I need to see them baby- god really she doesn’t want me going there to see my kids. I was so mad at this situation

I rolled my eyes putting my phone down. I bet he wouldn’t like me going to my ex’s house. I hated this and then text - have fun. -

Groaning I wanted to scream.  -I miss you- I sent back and then headed for the door I needed to see my kids and she couldn’t keep them from me this is my time!

I heard the banging on the door and smirked, I had just finished putting my lipstick on and slipping into a tight dress. “Hunter!” I acted confused then looked towards his car “she better not be here! I don’t want your slut anywhere near my children!”

I rolled my eyes. “No she isn’t here, I wish she was because she is no slut like you! I mean seriously what the hell are you dressed like that when you have a house full of kids!” Shaking my head there was a time I would have liked seeing that dress on her but not own. I love gabby and she is the woman I wish had my kids. “Where are the kids?”

“They went to their friends house. I told you, they didn’t want to see you. I can’t help it if you choose to move rather than be here and spend quality time with your children!” She said, shaking her head. “Your children need you! You’re raising another woman’s kids but not your own!!”

I rolled my eyes. “Don’t start! Where are they I’m going to go get them!” I wanted to yell at her I hated how she didnthis. “You know I was coming why would you send them away! You’re such a bitch!”

“Don’t make me call the police on you again! I don’t have you abusing me!” She snapped back. “They’re out. They might even have a sleep over. Maybe next time ask me what my plans are and how you can work around with me and what I’m doing!” She slammed the door in his face and smiled to herself

I rolled my eyes fucking hell she knew I was coming and did this anyways she was a bitch and I never abused her. Pissed off I knew I couldn’t call gabby she would be pissed and she had the right to be pissed.

I hadn’t heard from him so I assumed he was with the kids and having the time of his life. We went to the kids school fair and it was so much fun. The three of us got a photo together and I got to walk around their classroom to see how they were learning. They went to their dads afterwards, and I came home to an empty house hating it. I sent him a text - home now. It’s so quiet. I hate it.-

I was at the bar and saw her text. -I know what you mean I hate it too- I was starting to rethink this I love gabby but this not being able to see the kids when I want was tearing me apart I didn’t know what to do.

I rang him, wanting to hear his voice but when he answered it was loud and noisy “hey, What are you doing? Are you out for dinner?” I knew he wasn’t and my heart sank

Sighing I shook my head knowing she knew I wasn’t. “No, I’m not I went to get the kids she knew I was coming but she let them go stay the night at a friends. I’m so pissed I just want to see them and spend time with them and she is always doing this gabby! What am I suppose to do here?”

I wanted to say I told you so. I just sighed “She’s never going to change, she used the kids against you. You shouldn’t be at a bar though. She will always have control over you, she can’t just let you go and this is her way of keeping ahold of you Hunter.”
