"agreed. Some c us as a curse but there are more that think we are the best thays ever came along bc we keep the war as far away from our borders as possible." I say as i take a bite.

"Well that's how people few the American army. But usually the children have issues."

"because of been away from their parents. We have that issue here 2 but unfortunatly alot of the commenor kids get dragged in at the age of 15. If your big enuf to handle a blade your forced into the army in times of war. Thankfully your father restraned from taking kids and never allowed it."

"For us its 18 and females choose but males have none."

"yea. We usually have all men of age conscript but when times of need boys as young as 10 get dragged into the foght and end up been used like cannon fodder." I sigh softly as i toss my apple core into a feeding trouph.

"That doesn't seem right."

"yes but unfortunatly its war. Normally not even i would be forced to fight but we are short on men as it is so they had to speed up certain parts of our training me and drakos i mean as well as all the other 2 year riders and get sent out like lambs to the slaughter but alot of those that got sent out fell under my command and very few have died under it bc of my already vast experience as a warrior and magic user. And i already was a major at the time so i was able to save hundreds if not thousands of men and dragons alike." I say as drako nods and sighs loudly. "hes right we were lucky to get all the younglings under our command so that they had an easier time under us than they would have under anyone else bc their as handicaped as they can be without all the knolege we have collected." Drako says and shakes his head

I nodded. "Not even we get that desperate. The worst is the boy is handed a gun to protect the ones at home."

I nod and sigh. "yea truth is even they would havr pulled that back then. When our worlds were connected with no barrier they didnt have such technology the most they had were crossbows we had gunpowder but it was mainly used for mining materials or clearing a tunnel in the mines. Never for war bc it was 2 unreliable." I say and shake my head. "humans have advanced alot more than your father had thought they would."

"Yeah. Honestly its more dangerous now."

I nodded and sighed softly "i kinda figured considering the strange contraptions running around everywhere" i say and finally get to the small clearing. "you ready to learn more magic?"

"Yeah."

I nodded and breathed slowly as i begin the lessons and work thru lunch into late evening.

I smile alittle as we finish training for the day. "do you feel like your getting used to handling magic? Or do you feel like wer moving 2 fast?" I ask curiously

"Its working pretty well the way we're going."

I nod as i hear a click behind you i quickly draw my blade as i jump infront of you blocking a crossbow bolt with my sword.

I turn around curiously and freeze at seeing the bolt.

another bolt comes flying out of the tree. nearby and i block it again and send 3 fire balls in that direction. "stay behind me and stay down" i say quickly and call out to drako with my mind i hear lyra hiss loudly but i quickly send a spell at her binding her body down so she cant move i cringe slightly as i do it. But i no if i dnt she could get hurt or even die

I do as he said and found a place to hide.

I move her quickly behind a bush so shel be out of the way and safe i launch into the tree as another bolt goes flying

I sit quietly.

A few mins later you hear 2 loud thuds as me and the assasin droped out of the tree and i point my sword at his neck. "who sent you?!" I say loudly and send a quick message for you to come out but slowly incase theres another and i hear drako land behind me with a loud thud.

I do so and stay back as I watch him.

"it was the council member jacob" he says with a big smile. "he said he doesnt believe that the former king gave birth to such a weakling go ahead and kill me he will only send more." He says and laughs madly you c my face turn red in anger but i lower my blade and quickly move towards you and i tell drako to grab lyra and take you both back to the castle wile i finosh up here
