I sighed softly and just sat there quietly.

(My character was still in the room. She just sat up and was thinking about how to tell him, and she's still in the house, she just went downstairs and started drinking again.)

The more thought I gave the situation the more I needed to drink. Eventually I was able to rid myself of the thoughts, and also decide I had enough. I put my glass in the sink then went to the couch and sat quietly.
