“We haven’t had one since colt died, I thought that maybe it’s time for you to have a furry friend again.” I let him go, and he eagerly ran over his new daddy. “Happy birthday Tanner,” I just loved seeing him smile and happy.

I got to the airport looking for lily once I found her she looked like how I felt but I couldn’t let her know or see that in me. I put a smile on and approached her. “Hey lily you ready to kick some ass!”

Clearly he had a better day than me. I forced a smile nodding “course I am. I’m counting on you to KO some teams out of your way.” I slid over a coffee I had for him “Im not nervous, excited mainly. I’m already picturing my first meal when we’re back.”

I laughed. “Yeah and I’m already thinking about getting home to rhett!” She gave me a look. “Your mum got me a puppy I named him rhett and he is such a good dog, I think she mentioned taking him to yours and Gunnar’s and letting him stay with Gunnar while we are on the show.” I sighed. “How was he this morning?”

“Asleep when I left. He slept most of yesterday too.” I put in a brave face but was crushed on the inside. “He needs his rest so I just cooked him dinners and made sure the rooms were clean for him.. more of his hair fell out at the side where he slept but I didn’t mention that to him.” I reckon he would like having the puppy with him.

I pulled her to me. “Lily he is going to make it through all of this, he loves you to much to let anything happen to himself it will just take some time.” I smiled as I heard her phone ring. “I bet that’s him calling to say he loves you and to have fun.” The boy really loves my little girl and he was a good kid.

I looked down at my screen and smiled “good morning.” I said answering it. “How’s sleeping beauty today? I have your breakfast in the fridge too, and all the washing so done so don’t worry about anything except relaxing.” I said in one breath.

Char sent a message to Tanner as she got home, she’s laid out their BDSM toys on the bed and snapped a picture with a pair of lace panties - see you soon baby -

I smiled at lily she will be a good mum one day. I looked at my phone and groaned. -you’re such a tease baby, I miss you already, lily is a mess she is worried about Gunnar.-

- He will be ok. Just keep her mind off worrying. Have a safe flight. I love you - I sent, putting everything away and going to change Lenny.

I smiled. -love you take care of yourself and our little girl. Xxxx- I sent the text and watched lily with a smile.

I cooked to keep busy, needing to distract myself otherwise i would end up in tears. I made some muffins that would be good for Gunnar’s health and took them down, knocking on the door loud enough for him to hear and then walked in “hi, sorry to bother.. I thought you may like a snack.” I said with a smile placing the basket on the table. “I have to ask, when you’re feeling better would you mind helping at the gym? I just need someone to manage things when I can’t be there.”

I smiled knowing she was just trying to help. “Yeah I can do that, I’ll love those muffins right now my appetite is back hopefully it will stay back I’m loosing all my muscle.” I sighed. “I miss her so much.”

“I know, I miss them both as well but they will be home before we know it.” I sat down at the table with him “who knows, you might find yourself working out at the gym. Anything you need, please ask.”

I nodded.  “It’s hard you know, I was so tired before she left, I still am but not as much and I hate it, I wanted to do so much with her before she left.  But I couldn’t.”  I sighed.  “I love your daughter Mrs cook so much and I k ow it’s a little weird me telling you this but even when I first met your boys and hen her it’s like I knew she was my one and only, even at a young age.”

“You know, when I met Tanner I thought the same thing. It was love at first sight, and I know you both have something special.” I smiled. “And don’t call me mrs cook, it’s charlotte.” I smiled even more “I’ll come down here each night until you’re ablw to come up to the house and we will watch them together. I’m excited to see lily, hopefully nobody pisses her off.” I laughed

Laughing as I agreed. A few weeks later I was going up to the house to watch the show last week they won another comp and I was so proud although I didn’t like how the one guy was looking at lily. It was getting on my nerves and they always seemed to be talking.

“I can’t belive she made that jump!” I sat down with a bowl of popcorn between us, we were all here watching them compete each night together. “Your dads bulging with muscles.” I winked earning some groans from he older kids.

I wanted to laugh but they should him staring at lily again. “What the hell!” I got up and went to the other room to pace I mean she wasn’t doing anything wrong but I hated it. I hated that I couldn’t be there with her. As I calmed down I went and sat down just in time for them to show lily walking and sitting with him. A little to close if you asked me. I don’t even know what was being said but when he put his hand on her knee I most of flipped out because the next thing I knew I was on the floor looking up at everyone.

“What the hell.” It stopped when lily and this guy started talking in whisperes then the show finished. I jumped up when I heard Gunnar hit the floor, and knelt down to check his pulse. Relieved when he seemed to open his eyes “you fainted, is your head hurting?”

Shaking my head no. “No just my chest, I want to go be alone right now. Sorry to scare you all.” I saw her look at him I knew that look. I needed to go be by myself and fucking think. Did she want this guy did she not have feelings for me in fear I wouldn’t be able to give her what she wanted a family, kids running around. I thought about it as I walked back to the guest house.

“Sam go down there with him. Don’t let him watch the rest of the show.” I said worrying, I knew lily wouldn’t do anything but was she swept up in a romance? Where was her dad? None of this made sense. “I think I’m going to go to bed, Lenny is asleep and I’m going to take advantage of that.”

I paced back and forth when Sam show d up I shook my head. “Not now dude I need to be here alone please I know your all worried but seriously I need to be alone. I stared at the tv and groaned I didn’t want to turn it on but I knew as soon as Sam left I was going to. “Just go!” I watched him walk out and shake his head. I locked the door and sat down turning the tv on waiting.

“He’s going to go crazy.” I said bursting into mums room and then noticed her in bed wearing dads shirt and crying her eyes out. “What the hell..”

“I just miss him.” I cried, covering my face with my hands. “I wish they’d get kicked off but I don’t want that for them.” I sniffed.

As I watched her sit with this guy and getting to cozy I wanted to scream. “I’m not enough for her.” I whispered. I looked at the dog sitting at my feet he just stared at me. “I love her but she feels differently now.” Then they stood up and started to walk what I saw next made me sick worse than the chemo. I turned it off and grabbed my keys going for a drive and now caring where I ended up.

We were all in shock, I heard the car go and tried calling Gunnar but he wouldn’t answer. Jesus Christ. This was a mess. “Well shit.” Tom said running both hands through his hair. He just hoped he didn’t screw thjnfs up for them.

I sat at the park just thinking, something wasn’t right lily wouldn’t do this knowing he was back here watching. He knew she wouldn’t, but he saw the look in her eyes and then the kiss what the hell. He didn’t want to go back but he couldn’t stay there all night. His phone was blowing up. He finally sent a text. -I’m ok just at the park thinking-
